If you are looking for an opportunity to sharpen up your breakdancing abilities you should check out Center Stage dance studio in Soddy Daisy, TN.  Every MOnday night from 6:30 to 7:30 Tiam LaMaitre teaches a kickass breaking classes that focuses on the fundamentals of breaking.  Tiam is a great teacher and well worth the drive.  First class is free and fees vary but be prepared for a $12ish dollar range per class...

Finding a Space

I met with a friend of mine today who is just as interested in getting back to dancing as I am.  We basically looked over our options for spaces to rehearse/dance and just spoke about how dedicated to this we wanted to be.  Things like what we wanted out of the performing and how serious we were.

I think slow is good but I wouldn't mind trying to form a small company.  I mean if my director can do it, I really don't think it would be impossible for me.  I think it would be a good project and a great addition to the atmosphere of the Chattanooga Dance Community.

I am so excited about taking Laurel's class tomorrow!

why the blog

Hi.  Im Cayce.  I am 21 years old. I live in Chattanooga.  I grew up around the arts and specifically love modern dance.  There isn't much going on right now in Chatt as far as modern is concerned and so I wanted to start this blog in hopes that through posts of videos and events I can contribute a little to the education and expansion of modern dance as well as other forms of dance in the Chattanooga and surrounding areas.  Wish me luck.
